Olympian Debbie Miller

Debbie Miller-Palmore

Olympian Debbie Miller-Palmore has had an extraordinary career in basketball as an All-American cum laude graduate at Boston University. She still holds many of school records in scoring, rebounding, steals, assists, & blocked shots. She is a Hall of Famer and January 31st was named “Debbie Miller-Palmore Day” by the mayor of Boston.  On the international front, Debbie was a member of the United State Olympic team and competed as a professional in both Europe and South America.   She helped to pioneer the American Basketball League and was the general manager for the Atlanta Glory.

Debbie is the founder of Top of the Key, which is the premier provider of basketball training, camps and clinics for both players and coaches. Working along with her two children, Kaci and Keenan Palmore, and a full staff of dedicated young coaches who love the game, every year Top of the Key serves over 1,000 athletes who  attend camps and player clinics, over 250 coaches that attend coaches’ clinics, and over 150 serious athletes trained live in the Player Development Program as well as many who train online in the Challenge Program.

In 2015, Debbie was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame for her accomplishments as an athlete, and her ongoing contribution to the development of young athletes and coaches.

In 2016, she was honored by the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus at the World Congress Center for her accomplishments and contributions to the community.  In 2020 Debbie was nominated into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame (along with Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, etc.).  In 2021 she was inducted in the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame along with her Olympic teammates.  Most recently in 2023, she was awarded by Boston University and the Patriot League, the "Trailblazer of Distinction Award", which recognized her impactful accomplishments during the Title IX era. Also in 2023, she was inducted into the Bronx Hall of Fame.

In addition to many years of experience as an educator and coach, Debbie consults with church sports’ programs, and is a much sought after motivational speaker.  She has written a  children’s book called, “Play With H.E.A.R.T. ” This colorful entertaining book  focuses on both character and basketball skill development for young children. She currently directs the basketball leagues at Clairmont Presbyterian Church (that includes up to 66 teams) and Haygood United Methodist Church (that has hosted up to 92 teams) for young athletes from Pre-K to seniors in High School in the Atlanta, Georgia area. 

Outside of the world of basketball and business, Debbie enjoys playing in Celebrity golf tournaments and plays the keyboard and flute in a gospel band.  Debbie is a very multi-talented and dynamic individual. It’s her strong faith, love of the game and commitment to young people that drives her vision at Top of the Key.
